Afghanistan Strategy |
Since I don't own an armchair, I can't technically be an armchair strategist. I can and have been, however, an AMATEUR strategist. What follows I wrote some time in 2009 before McCrystal got his men (and women) from a President eager to get a core element in his Socialist program enacted, the health insurance mandate. There is no doubt in my mind that Obama is a complete and utter cynic, and that he follows Alinsky to a T, in that everything is negotiable, if it helps the cause, where the cause is enacting totalitarianism, which is to say control by intellectualized Al Capones. That commentary, of course, is irrelevant to this topic: the future and nature of military operations in rough mountain country on the other side of the planet. It is not too late to move in the approximate direction I indicate, for the reasons I argue. |
